She was formerly the Medical Director of a Regional Correctional Hospital in Lake
Butler, Florida. Dr. Nieves Cruz has been practicing medicine for over 25 years as an

Dr. Soni is a Board Certified Family Physician in Central Florida and the Medical Director of Soni Family Practice. Dr. Ambica Soni launched her career in Massachusetts where her talents were soon recognized by the Boston University Medical School. Her attention to detail, dedication to patients and expertise in family medicine earned her a position on staff with the Boston University Medical School, training medical students on the essentials of family medicine.
Dr. Ambica Soni earned her medical degree (with honors). Dr. Soni was handpicked for a competitive residency program in Family Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. There she served as Chief Resident of Family Medicine. She founded the Soni Family Practice to care for you like family and on building a relationship with patients and their families.

Gopi K. Maharaja, MD
Dr. G. K. Maharaja, also known by many as Dr. M, graduated from the University of Central Florida Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular & Microbiology and Health Service Administration. She has obtained her Master’s degree in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Biophysics at Boston University School of Medicine with Honors.
Dr. M is a graduate of St. George’s School of Medicine with honors and has been trained in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at Morristown Medical Center and Florida Hospital.
In addition to her primary care practice, she takes a special interest in Preventative Medicine, Women’s Health, Nutrition, and Weight management. She is also certified in Wound Care for management of non-healing wounds and also performs in-office skin biopsies.

Isabel Hidalgo, MD
Dr. Isabel Hidalgo has been a General Practitioner for 29 years. She graduated from
Universidad de Ciencias Medicas in Havana, Cuba with her medical degree and focused on Pediatrics and Critical Care for 10 years in Cuba before volunteering to travel to Africa and providing medical services to rural areas for 3 years. She then practiced Primary Care and Home Health in Puerto Rico before moving to the US. She moved to Central Florida over 3 years ago and has since practiced primary care medicine to the patients of Lakeland, and Winter Haven in Polk County.
Dr. Hidalgo regularly volunteers her time and efforts to the underprivileged and supports endeavors for the elderly allowing her to continue to build her relationship with the community. Her extensive training and experience allow her to provide comprehensive care with special emphasis on preventive medicine.

Jenafer Garcia, ARNP
Jenafer Garcia has joined Soni Family Practice as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Her undergraduate coursework began at Polk State College, earning her RN degree in 2005 and later graduating from the University of South Florida with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Jenafer made the decision to begin her advanced degree as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of South Florida in Spring of 2014.
Kathryn Kuscavage, PA
Kathryn grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She finished her undergraduate degree of biology with a minor degree in biochemistry at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
Kathryn graduated with honors from the Masters of Science Program as a physician assistant from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She is board certified as a physician assistant in Florida.
Her intelligence, strong work ethic, dedication to patient education, and easy patient rapport made her a perfect fit for us. She brings her proficiency in joint injections and orthopedic conditions.
Kashan Khan, MD
Dr. Kashan Khan, MD obtained his Medical Degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
He completed his residency at Wheeling Hospital in West Virginia.
Dr. Khan alsp completed a Geriatric Fellowship for Carilion Hospital in Roanke, Virginia.
Ricardo Navarro, do
Dr. Ricardo Navarro is a local Internal Medicine physician who practices medicine in his hometown of Lake Wales, Florida. Prior to completing his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, he worked as an Emergency Medicine Technician, as well as a Mental Health Associate at Winter Haven Hospital. He obtained his medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from LECOM, Bradenton campus, where he solidified
his foundation of the basic medical sciences and the principles of osteopathic medicine. After medical school, he completed his training in internal medicine at Bayonet Point Trauma Center in Hudson, Fl.
Throughout his education and training, Dr. Navarro came to understand that the human body is an intricate system with the amazing capability of healing itself under the right circumstances. It is his philosophy that the role of a physician is not to completely change the chemistry of an individual’s body with medications but rather to educate his patients on their disease process in an easy to understand manner. Dr. Navarro firmly believes that the ancient phrase “ Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food” combined with today’s evidence-based medicine can not only expand the human life span but increase the quality of life as well.

Whitney Brown is a family nurse practitioner who began her nursing career in 2009. As a Polk County native, Whitney is driven by the desire to help and care for those in her community. With over a decade of nursing experience, she is passionate about delivering primary care with a patient-centered approached. Whitney is motivated to place health promotion and disease prevention at the forefront of her care.
Whitney graduated with honors from South University in Tampa in 2020 with a master’s degree in nursing. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). In addition, Whitney is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In her free time, Whitney enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling. She is excited to bring her skill and compassion to join the Navarro Medical team.
